Police Official Surrenders

Trivandrum, India
, Jul. 7 2002 (INS News) --
The absconding Police offical who was suspended for his involvement in the the sex racket that was busted in Thiruvananthapuram, surrendered before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate , at Vanchiyoor, Trivandrum District.The Magistrate remanded him in police custody for a day and ordered the police to produce him before the court.

The police official appeared before court along with his advocate and conveyed the intention of surrendeer before court and moved application for bail. The police counsel opposed the granting bail to the police officer and sought police custody for interrogation. The court granted the police plea.

The Police officer, Mohamed Iqubal, was later handed over to a Police team headed by P. Prabha, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Control Room) who is probing the case. The Police official will be produced before the Court on Friday morning, and his bail application is likely to be considered on the day.
