Kerala Government
to Control Massage Parlours

The Kerala State Government has seriously desciding
to bring a comprehensive legislation to ensure the
quality of treatment and standard of the Ayurvedic
massage parlours, across the state.
Prof
K.V. Thomas,Minister for Tourism informed the Assembly
that the draft for the proposed legislation will
soon be considered by the state cabinet.
A
plan together by Tourism and Health Ministries along
with the local bodies could only put an end to the
exploitation of tourists in the name of Ayurveda
treatment, Prof Thomas said.
Earlier,
Speaker Vakkom Purushothaman and many members of
the House expressed reservations about the quality
and standard offered by such institutions.
