Beemapalli Urus begins

, Aug. 4 2002 (INS News) --
The Festival being celebrated at Beemapalli Dhargah Shereef in Trivandrum, a famous pilgrim centre of Muslims of Kerala, on the occasion of the death anniversary of Sayyidhathunissa Beema Beevi and her son Asshaiku Sayyidussaheed Maheen Aboobaker who are held as saints by Muslims began on August 11 corresponding to the first of Jamadul-Aukir, Hijara Year, Islamic Calender.

The festival will conclude on August 21 (11th of Jamadul-Aukir, according to the Islamic Calender).

Religious discourses and recitation of Islamic songs would be organised on different days of the festival. Onthe concluding day, a procession from the dhargah would be followed by Al-haj and prayers by Iamam P H Abdul Gafar Moulavi.

The Kerala State Transport Road Corporation has arranged special bus services from various places in the State for the festival.
